In 1971, Michael 'Joshua' Manley used reggae songs as a stepping-stone to power, promising a better tomorrow to all the sufferers. When he was elected Prime Minister in 1972, Cold War broke out in Jamaica! Murders, violence (or tribal wars) and political destabilisation brought the island on the hedge of civil war. Jamaica is yet to recover from this dark period when the best reggae ever was recorded... and when many artists had to take side.
