The two political parties, the PNP and the JLP, divided Kingston into politically affiliated garrisons, and Cold War broke out in Jamaica. In the midst of tribal wars, the voice of reggae resounded to call for peace and to preach black pride. Many artists, including Bob Marley, had to side with a party.
