Columbus has a very special relationship with Jamaica, which he described as the most beautiful island of the New World. He came there for the first time in 1494 (the beginning of out book) but when his ships wrecked during his last voyage, he had to stay on the North coast for many months, dealing with the Arawak Indians, fighting against his rebellious crew and hoping to be saved by his worst enemies!
